Because we care, Our Kids Can!
Established in 2021, Our Kids Can Learning Academy joins the fight to promote academic success and professional childcare. We stand among the few agencies that not only welcome children with special needs, but we encourage their enrollment. We are an inclusive learning academy that seek to help all levels of learning. We combine traditional, challenging, and creative teaching practices with mental wellness. Our interest areas were selected, not only because our owner has a wealth of experience in these approaches, but because we as a team see a need more than ever to highlight the importance of mental health in daily living and education.

Welcome! I'm Mrs. Thomas, Owner and Director of Our Kids Can Learning Academy. This school is dear to my heart, because I have poured so much of myself, time, and love into it's creation. As a youth, I endured the hardships of my environment, and wanted nothing more than to change my circumstances. It was and still is my motivation to help youth overcome challenges. I'm a hard worker who found myself naturally caring for others. The joy I felt from doing so connected me with the helping profession. I began this journey with several years of volunteering in various educational, mental health, and wellness settings. Soon after, I earned my B.S. in Human Services and minor in Child Psych. After years of tutoring, teaching, and mentoring, I returned to school and obtained my Masters in Education. Today and forever, I strive to learn and grow from every card life deals me, as well as encourage others to do the same.
All services have been selected based upon research, education, and professional/personal experience. For the past 8 years, as a Certified Mental Health Professional and Educator, I've worked with people from all walks of life in: hospitals, in-home, crisis centers, behavioral health, and schools. With a love for creativity, I have found awesome ways to incorporate it into our services. You can expect a caring, determined, and fun experience from myself and staff. Join us in putting you first!
